An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop Tuesday in Cascade Locks led to the discovery and seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine and cash.

According to OSP Lieutenant Patrick Ashmore, on May 26, 2009 at approximately 11:00 p.m. an OSP senior trooper stopped a suspected DUII driver in the Cascade Locks area. During contact with the driver, identified as ANTONIO CERVANTES CASTELLANOS, age 55, from The Dalles, the trooper saw him attempt to conceal something which was later identified as a small amount of cocaine. Despite his efforts to resist arrest, he was taken into custody.

Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, 1/4 lb. of cocaine, and nearly $1,450 cash.

He was lodged at the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility (NORCOR) in The Dalles for:

* Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
* Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine

NORCOR advised he bailed out this morning pending an appearance in Hood River County Circuit Court.

The victim indicated a White or Hispanic male with a Hispanic accent entered the store with a black revolver, ordered the clerk to open the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled northeast toward Lancaster Drive. Deputies did a K-9 track which led them to the north side of the business where it appeared the suspect had a vehicle parked. The tracks from the tires indicate it may have been a small car or small pickup.

another of Obama’s pathway to citizenship hardworking mexicans. I guess he needed the money to send it back home. Its okay for mexicans to be criminals in Oregon. It really is.
SALEM—Earlier this month a Beaverton man probably illegal mexican but for sure a criminal mexican pled guilty to racketeering in a case that involved charges of tax evasion. His conviction carries a five-year sentence without the chance for parole.

Maurilio Castillo Vega was involved in a scheme to avoid paying income and payroll taxes and workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance. Vega paid workers in cash under the table. He didn’t withhold taxes from employee pay or pay payroll taxes. The scheme allowed Vega to underbid legitimate competitors.
The Oregon Department of Revenue encourages businesses to file and pay taxes correctly, and issues a warning to those that don’t.
Revenue is part of a network of state agencies on the lookout for dishonest business people like Vega. Employees from the Department of Revenue, Employment Department, and the Department of Consumer and Business Services visit worksites to educate employers about their duty to pay payroll taxes and to check for compliance.
The network’s goal is to provide a level playing field for honest Oregon businesses.
“We will continue our educational outreach to businesses about filing requirements,” said Larry Warren, Business Collection Services Manager. “We will also continue to enforce the law when businesses don’t file and pay appropriately.”
