On 9-14-09, at 10:47 am the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a traffic crash at Lancaster Drive and Cooley Drive NE. When Deputies arrived, witnesses indicated the driver of a maroon Ford Escort had run on foot from the crash scene. The driver, 32 year old Eliseo Paz-Cruz of Mexico Salem was located by deputies a short time later hiding in some nearby bushes. He was subsequently arrested for Failure to perform the duties of a driver and transported to the Marion County Jail.
The victim, 78 year old Robert Willner of Rickreall was driving a white Honda Odessey Van and was not injured.
